The first process is to reduce the size of food substances through force or compression like Grinding and Cutting.
2. Increase the size
This method is used to increase the standard size of food matter. The equipment that is involved in this process are Extrusion, Agglomeration or Rotating Pans and Forming for molding.
3. Unifying
In this process the particle size decreases and the consistency of the liquid substance increases. The equipment that is used in Unifying are Mixers, Mills, etc.
4. Blending
In this method, they have to maintain a constant mixture. By mixing and dispersing more than two components into one another.
